Calming & Soothing - Oat Tincture to the Rescue!

Herbal tinctures are great for added support and can be used alone or in conjunction with homeopathic remedies. When taking herbal products you are taking the actual plant substance and when you are taking a homeopathic remedy you are actually taking the energy of that substance. Sometimes individuals may have a reaction to a specific herb however, I do not usually see this type of reaction when taking the homeopathic remedy. Results from taking herbal tinctures are usually seen very quickly. Oat tincture is a great example of an herb that can support us during times of stress and anxiety. I have seen if work well for insomnia, anxiety, worry, fear, addictions and PTSD among other things. Here is some information on the Oat plant along with its' health benefits.

The common oat or avena sativa is an annual member of the grass family and one of the eight major cereal crops of the world. It has been used as a cereal and fodder (animal food) crop since ancient times. Oats are an annual plant growing to about 3 feet tall with large drooping seed heads. It has been cultivated since the Bronze Age (2000 years ago) in Celtic and Germanic regions of Europe and originated as a weed, popping up in fields of other cultivated grains.

Avena sativa actually means “wild oats” in Latin. This plant was used as a medicine prior to being used as food and they may have been referring to this plant in the phrase “sowing your wild oats,” due to its effect on sexual stimulation.
